According to reports, star cricketer Virat Kohli may soon shift to Mumbai. The flamboyant Indian batsman has reportedly purchased a spacious apartment in south Mumbai's Worli area. It is said to be a 7,171 sq-ft sea-view apartment and will cost the Indian Test captain a whopping Rs. 34 crores. The flat is on the 35th floor in the C-Wing of a super-luxury under-construction project of Omkar Realtors & Developers' called Omkar 1973.
Indian all-rounder and one the greatest match-winner for the country, Yuvraj Singh also bought an apartment on the 29th floor of the same wing back in 2014. Interestingly, the 27-year-old will get the apartment with just four walls and will have to get all the remaining work done including interiors and constructing rooms as per his own specifications.
A source from the builder’s office told the Economic Times that, "The project has flats on bare shell 'Bespoke' model, which means the flats can be designed as per the owner’s style and taste. The builder offers only a floor, with no columns in between. It’s like a playground and the owner can make anything inside. One can have any size of bedroom to a king size hall, or a study.”
"While the talks for buying the apartment have been going on for the last few months, the transaction has been concluded recently. While the apartment will be bare-shell, it can be customised into a lavish five-bedroom house," he added.
When contacted for confirmation, the spokesperson from the developer side refused to reveal any information and said, “We do not comment on individual deals and also on our clients.”
The flat in which the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain has invested is part of 'Sky Bungalows' constructed in the housing complex and comprises of three towers. The apartment offers an awe-inspiring view of the Arabian Sea. Approximately 70% percent of the flats in Omkar 1973 have been already sold by the company and Kohli’s apartment is expected to be delivered by mid-2018.
After the completion of Indian Premier League, where he led RCB from the front to the final, Kohli has been spotted in Mumbai for a number of times lately. He was seen with Bollywood actress and his alleged girlfriend Anushka Sharma recently and there are reports that the two are giving their relationship another chance after putting their brief tiff behind them.
The right-hander had also recently organised a charity football match between cricketers and Bollywood celebrities in the commercial capital of India. He had also held a fund-raising charity auction and dinner at Mumbai's Hyatt Regency hotel for Smile Foundation on June 3.
